SOUTHERN PECAN PIE | |
Unbaked pastry for a single-crust 9" pie 3 tbsp. butter 1 tsp. vanilla 3/4 c. sugar 3 eggs 1/2 c. chopped pecans 1 c. dark corn syrup 1/2-3/4 c. pecan halves Line pie pan with pastry; set aside. Cream butter with vanilla; add sugar gradually. Mix well. Add eggs one at a time. Blend in chopped pecans and syrup. Pour into pie shell and bake in preheated 450 degree oven for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees. Remove pie from oven and arrange pecan halves on top of filling. Return to oven and bake for 30-35 minutes more. |
