SWEDISH HEIRLOOM COOKIES | |
1/2 c. shortening 1/2 c. butter 1 c. powdered sugar, sifted 1/2 tsp. salt 2 c. all purpose flour 1 tbsp. water 1 tbsp. vanilla 1 1/2 c. ground almonds Cream shortening and butter on medium speed of mixer until light and fluffy. Add 1 cup of powdered sugar and salt; mix well. Stir in flour, add water, vanilla and almonds, stirring well. Shape into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheets and flatten with spoon or fork. Bake at 325 degrees for 12 minutes or until done. Dredge warm cookies in additional powdered sugar. Yield 4 dozen. |
