SOUR CREAM DROP COOKIES 
2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening (part butter for flavor)
1 egg, beaten
1 tbsp. grated orange or lemon peel
1 c. commercial sour cream
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder

Cream together sugar and shortening until fluffy. Add egg and grated peel; beat well. Mix in sour cream. Sift together flour, salt, soda and baking powder; add to first mixture and mix well. Drop by teaspoons on ungreased baking sheet.

Flatten slightly with bottom of glass dipped in granulated sugar. Press in a pecan or walnut half, or a few raisins, if desired. Bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Makes about 7 dozen.
