CHOCOLATE LAYER CAKE 
1 box yellow cake mix
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. water
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Place all ingredients in bowl and mix well. Pour into three 9 inch round cake pans and bake at 350 degrees F. about 25 minutes. Cool on racks.

CHOCOLATE ICING:

2 1/2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. butter
6 tbsp. Crisco
1 sm. can evaporated milk
4 tbsp. cocoa
1/4 c. light Karo syrup
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix all ingredients in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil and cook 3 minutes. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Beat well and spread on cake layers.
