RAW APPLE BREAD 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. buttermilk
1 c. coarsely chopped unpeeled apples
1/2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans
1 tsp. vanilla or grated lemon rind

Cream butter. Add sugar slowly; beat until light. Beat in eggs. Sift flour with salt, soda and baking powder. Add to creamed mixture alternately with the milk. Stir in the apples, nuts and vanilla or lemon rind. Grease a 9x5x3-inch loaf pan.

Spoon batter into pan. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven 50-60 minutes. Cool in pan for 5 minutes; turn out on rack to cool completely before slicing.
