APPLE PIES 
CRUST (FOR 2 PIES) :

2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. + 2 tbsp. Crisco shortening
1/3 c. cold water

PIE FILLING (FOR 1 PIE) :

4 Granny Smith apples
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. apple juice (optional)

Mix sugar and cinnamon together before pouring over apples.

TOPPING (FOR 1 PIE) :

3/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. butter (all but 2 tbsp. of 1 stick)

Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour at 350 degrees.
