GRANDMA'S STOLLEN 
1 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 tsp. salt

Scald milk, add sugar, butter and salt. Stir until dissolved. Dissolve 1 package yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm water and add to milk mixture. Add 2 beaten eggs to milk mixture. Add 4 1/2 to 5 cups flour. Knead until smooth, let rise until double in bulk. 1 c. raisins, white 1/4 c. orange peel or lemon peel 1/4 c. citron 1/4 c. almonds, slivered

Add to dough after first rising. Pat into oval, brush with 1/2 cup melted butter. Fold lengthwise, pinch edges. Rise until double. Bake at 325 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes.
