BOSTON BROWN BREAD 
1 c. raisins
2 c. boiling water
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. shortening

Put raisins in bowl with boiling water. Let cool. In another bowl, mix remaining ingredients until creamed. Add 2 eggs; one at a time. Beat well. Add raisins and water. Add 4 cups of flour and nuts if desired. Fill greased #2 cans 1/2 full. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.
