HAM AND CHEESE ALMOST SOUFFLE 
8 slices white bread
3/4 lb. cheddar cheese, cubed
3 c. diced, cooked ham
1 (4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained
6 lg or 8 sm. eggs
3 1/2 c. milk
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

In buttered 3 quart casserole dish, layer bread, cheese, ham and optional mushrooms in order given until casserole is full, ending with layer of cheese. Beat together remaining ingredients and pour over casserole. If liquid does not show 2/3 way up the dish, add more milk. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Serve immediately. Serves 6 to 8.
