DEVILS FOOD PUDDING 
1/3 c. sugar
2 tbsp. shortening
1 egg
1 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Ice cream or Satin Sauce

Cream sugar and shortening. Add egg; mix well. Beat in chocolate. Stir together flour, soda, and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk and vanilla; beat well.

Divide into 2 well-greased 16-ounce vegetable cans. Cover tightly with foil. Place in crockery cooker. Pour 1/2 cup warm water around cans. Cover; cook on HIGH 1 1/2 hours. Remove and cool 10 minutes. Unmold. Serve with ice cream or Satin Sauce.

SATIN SAUCE:

2 egg yolks
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. whipping cream
1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar
Dash of salt

Combine egg yolks, sugar, vanilla and salt; beat until fluffy. Whip cream and fold in. Chill.
