1/2 c. minus 1 tbsp. Hershey's cocoa
1 1/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. cornstarch
3 c. sweet milk
3 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Scald milk in top of double boiler. Mix dry ingredients together in a bowl. Add this to the hot milk. Stir until blended and the mixture thickens, about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Remove from the heat. Add the butter until melted. When this cools down some add the vanilla. This is great while warm. As soon as it cools cover with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator.
