5 lb. King Arthur flour 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. oil 2 pkg. dry yeast 4 c. warm water Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add pinch of sugar. Stir well and set aside until it foams. Combine flour, sugar and oil. Rub dough mix with your hands until the formed granules are even. Add 4 cups warm water to mixture and knead until smooth. Set the above mix aside in pan or bowl, cover with plastic. The dough mix will double in size. After it has risen, divide dough into 5 parts (or loaves). Flour top of dough lightly. Press lightly and let this rest for 30 minutes covered. Press out evenly into round flat (loaf or pita) circle. Use church mold insignia. Press the pattern into dough and bake at 400 degrees until golden brown. |
