SPICED FRUIT COMPOTE 
2 lg. apples
2 oranges
16 oz. can peach halves, drained
16 oz. can pineapple chunks, drained
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. water
2 sticks cinnamon
1/2 tsp. whole cloves
1/2 tsp. whole allspice
16 oz. can dark sweet cherries, drained

Peel and core apples and cut into large pieces. Peel oranges and cut into large pieces. Cut peach half in 2 pieces. Place apple, orange, peach and pineapple in a large bowl.

In a small saucepan, combine sugar, water, cinnamon, cloves and allspice. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 5 minutes. Remove from heat and cool. Strain out spices. Stir strained mixture into fruit mixture. Cover and refrigerate several hours. Just before serving, stir in cherries. Makes 10 servings.
