CHEWY PEANUT BUTTER BARS 
1/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 c. unsifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 (3 1/2 oz.) can Baker's angel flake coconut

Cream together shortening, peanut butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs; beat well. Mix in flour, baking powder, and salt; stir in the coconut. Spread evenly in greased 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees about 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool; cut in bars. Makes about 36.
