1 c. butter
5 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla or lemon flavor
2 c. flour

Drop on ungreased pan and press down criss-cross with fork dipped in sugar. Place piece of nut in center. Bake at 350 degrees about 10 minutes.
