CHOCOLATE SYRUP 
1 c. dry cocoa
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. cold water
2 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix cocoa and cornstarch well; add water and stir until smooth. Boil sugar and water to a syrup. Stir in cocoa mixture. Cook slowly, stirring for 10 minutes. Cool; add vanilla. Store in jar in refrigerator. Use a half-tablespoon of this syrup with a glass of milk, to make chocolate milk shake.
