FRENCH CABBAGE SOUP 
2 tsp. vegetable oil
3 c. shredded green cabbage
1 c. sliced onions
1/8 tsp. minced garlic
1 1/2 c. beef broth
1 c. water
1/2 c. tomato puree
1 tsp. brown sugar
1 whole clove
1 bay leaf
8 oz. peeled, cooked, diced potato

Heat oil in large saucepan. Add vegetables, cook, stirring often until cabbage is soft, about 10 minutes. Add seasonings, sugar, puree and broth. Cook 20 minutes over low heat. Add cooked potato and heat through. Remove clove and bay leaf. Serves 4, 118 calories each.
