Dutch Apple Pie

This is very good. I just made it for my family and we finished the whole dish. I made it without the crust, so made it ahead of time (a couple of hours). I'll definitely make it again.

I think this is a great recipe. I mostly used it for the crumb topping recipe, but I think overall it is very close to my apple pie recipe that always gets rave reviews! Thanks!

Honest to goodness, the best apple pie I've had- let alone made. I don't know what sets it apart exactly, but I'm adopting this recipe as "my signature apple pie." Thanks for the recipe!

Was great! Baked it nearly an hour as I had a deep dish pan pan. Covered with tin foil for the first 45 min, then uncovered the last 15 min. Family loved it!

 Katie Sears (Nebraska) says:
This is NOT Dutch apple pie. Practically everyone makes this mistake. This is FRENCH apple pie. Dutch apple pie has cream or half & half poured through the slits of the pie crust while baking. An apple pie with a crumb topping is French apple.

Terrific recipe!
I ended up with 2 full pies; one with crust and a second pie without a crust. LOVE the crumble topping!
