STRAWBERRY PRESERVES 
4 qt. firm berries
12 c. sugar

Clean berries. Cover with boiling water. Let stand about 5 minutes. Drain and add 8 cups of sugar. Bring to a boil slowly without stirring. Allow a rolling boil for 4 minutes. Cool until it stops bubbling. Add 4 cups of sugar and return to a rolling boil for 10 minutes. Let cool. Put in clean jars and seal. Makes 6 pints.
