CRANBERRIES IN RED WINE 
1 (12 oz.) pkg. fresh cranberries
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. Cabernet Saucignon
1 stick cinnamon
1 (7 inch) piece orange peel

Rinse berries and drain. Combine sugar and wine in heavy non-corrosive pan. Heat to boil, stirring constantly over moderate heat. Stir in berries, cinnamon stick, and orange peel. Over high heat, return to boil. Stirring constantly, reduce heat to medium-low and simmer partially covered until berries burst.
