COUNTRY BISCUITS
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/3 c. Crisco
3/4 c. milk

Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl; cut in Crisco using pastry blender (or 2 knives) to form coarse crumbs. Add milk. Mix with fork until particles are moistened and cling together. Form dough into a ball.

Transfer dough to lightly floured surface; knead gently 8 to 10 times. Roll dough 1/2 inch thick. Cut with floured 2 inch round cutter. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake in oven on 425 degrees for 12 to 14 minutes. Yields: 12 to 16 biscuits.
