CHOCOLATE OAT CHEWIES 
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. vegetable oil
2/3 c. brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. old fashioned uncooked oats
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
2/3 c. raisins
2/3 c. chopped nuts
2/3 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium mixing bowl (or food processor) blend the butter, oil, brown sugar. Beat in the egg and vanilla until well blended. Stir in oats and flour; mix well. Stir in raisins, nuts and chocolate chips.

Spread batter in a lightly greased 8 inch baking pan. Bake for 25 minutes. Cool, then cut into squares. Store in an airtight container. Makes about 2 dozen small squares.
