SUE'S HERSHEY'S SYRUP BROWNIES 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 tbsp. vanilla
3 eggs
1 (16 oz.) can Hershey's chocolate syrup
1 1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. finely chopped pecans or walnuts

To make brownies: Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 13 x 9 inch pan. In large bowl, beat sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add 1 tablespoons vanilla, eggs, and chocolate syrup; blend well. Stir in 1/2 cup nuts. Spread in greased pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely.

FROSTING:

1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. unsweetened cocoa
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 to 3 tbsp. milk
1/2 c. finely chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

To make frosting: Melt 1/4 cup butter in medium saucepan over medium heat. Blend in cocoa; heat until mixture JUST comes to boil, stir constantly. Cool slightly. Stir in powdered sugar, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and enough milk for spreading consistency; blend until smooth.

Stir in nuts, if desired. Spread carefully over cooled brownies. Cool completely; cut into bars. Servings: 36 bars. Scrumptious!!
