RED HOT SWEET POTATOES 
1 c. sugar
1 c. water
1/2 to 3/4 c. red cinnamon candies
1/2 c. butter
Sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced

In large skillet heat sugar, water, candies and butter to boiling. Put sweet potatoes in a single layer to cover bottom of skillet. Cover and cook slowly on top of stove, about 1 hour or until potatoes are done and syrup is thick. Baste with syrup several times or turn occasionally.
