DON'S MOM'S CRANBERRY SALAD 
1 lg. pkg. red Jello (or 2 sm. pkg.)
1 3/4 c. boiling water
2 c. cold water
1 can whole cranberries
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. chopped apple
1 c. chopped celery
1 can mandarin oranges, drained
8 oz. Cool Whip

Dissolve Jello in 1 3/4 c. boiling water; add cold water. Chill until barely thick (about 30-45 minutes). When thick, stir in apple, nuts, celery, cranberries and drained mandarin oranges. Chill until set, 3-4 hours. When set spread Cool Whip on top. Cover and keep cold until ready to serve.
