CRANBERRY COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/3 c. milk
1 egg
3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 c. fresh cranberries, coarsely chopped
1 c. mixed candied fruit, chopped
1 tbsp. grated orange rind

Combine butter, sugar, and vanilla; cream until light and fluffy. Add milk and egg, beating well.

Combine dry ingredients; gradually add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Stir in remaining ingredients.

Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets; bake at 375 degrees until lightly browned and set 10 to 12 minutes.
