SWISS STEAK PIE 
1 1/2 lb. beef bottom round steak, cut 1" thick
3 tbsp. all-purpose flour
3 tbsp. salad oil
1 c. fresh chopped onion
4 oz. can mushroom stems & pieces
15 oz. can tomato sauce
1 tsp. salt
1 (8 oz.) pkg. refrigerated biscuits
1 tsp. sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut round steak into 1" chunks, coat with flour. Cook over medium heat in hot salad oil until well browned. With slotted spoon remove meat from drippings. In drippings cook onion until browned. Return meat to skillet.

Add mushrooms with their liquid, tomato sauce, sugar, salt and 1/2 cup water to meat. Bake 1 hour and 45 minutes until meat is tender.

Separate biscuits and cut each in half, arrange on top of mixture. Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown. Serves 8.
