CHOCOLATE OATMEAL SQUARES 
1 c. butter
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
dash of salt
2 c. flour
2 c. oatmeal
1 c. chocolate chips

Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and vanilla. Mix in dry ingredients. Fold in chips. Pat into 13 x 9-inch pan and bake about 25 minutes at 350°F.

(You may add nuts, peanut butter, wheat germ, etc., to vary flavors.)
