CHOCOLATE FUDGE SQUARES 
3/4 c. shortening (part butter)
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. oatmeal (1 min. oatmeal)

FILLING:

1 (12 oz.) chocolate chips
1 can condensed milk
1/2 c. nuts
1/4 can water (use condensed milk can)

Mix shortening and sugar thoroughly. Stir in flour, soda and salt. Stir in oatmeal.

Press and flatten 1/2 of mixture over bottom of greased oblong pan, 13 x 9 1/2 x 2 inches. Spread with filling. Top with crushed nuts and rest of crumb mixture. Pat crumb mixture lightly. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes until lightly browned. Cut in squares while warm and remove from pan. FILLING: Melt chips, milk and water until smooth. Add nuts.
