FUDGE SQUARES (BROWNIES) | |
4 oz. unsweetened baking chocolate 1 1/2 c. plus 2 tbsp. sugar 2 sticks butter 1 scant c. flour 3 beaten extra lg. eggs plus 1 yolk 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. salt Melt chocolate and butter over very low heat. Remove from heat; stir in sugar. Add half of flour; stir. Add half of egg mixture; stir. Repeat the last 2 steps. Add salt and vanilla. Bake in buttered baking dish at 350 degrees for approximately 15 minutes. Best when still fudgy and not "quite done". Cool; top with sifted powdered sugar. These freeze well and are great to eat frozen, as they melt in your mouth. (Do not over bake.) |
