4 to 6 sweet potatoes (yams)
1/4 lb. butter
Brown sugar
Cinnamon
1 can pineapple slices
1 jar maraschino cherries
(Milk if needed)

Cut sweet potatoes in half (to shorten boiling time). Boil until soft, drain and peel. Put in mixing bowl and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon to taste. Melt in 1/4 pound butter and mash well. Add a splash of milk if need to make smooth.

Place pineapple slices on a cookie sheet and spoon mashed sweet potatoes on to center of slices piling up to a coned shaped tree. Top with a cherry and bake in a 350 degree oven until edges begin to brown. Chopped apples may be added to mashed potato mixture as an option.
