SLOPPY JOES ITALIAN STYLE 
3 lbs. hamburger
3 lbs. Italian sausage
3 tsp. garlic powder
3 tsp. salt
1/3 tsp. pepper
3 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
3 (8 oz.) cans pizza sauce
3 tsp. basil
3 tsp. fennel seed
36 slices Provolone cheese
18 eight inch hoagie rolls

Simmer the sausage in water for 30 minutes; this will discard the fat; discard water. Brown the sausage and beef together in the same skillet. Add the garlic, salt, and pepper; stir in both kinds of sauce. Add basil and simmer uncovered for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

To serve: At serving time heat roll for 5 minutes, then slice lengthwise. Cover the inside of the top half with cheese; sprinkle with paprika and put under the broiler until cheese is melted. Spread on the meat sauce.

To freeze: Put portions into an airtight container and cool before placing into freezer.
