WHITE CAKE & CARAMEL FROSTING | |
1 c. butter 2 c. sugar 3 1/2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. flavoring 3 tsp. baking powder 1 c. sweet milk 6 egg whites 1/4 tsp. salt CARAMEL ICING: 1 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. white sugar 1 c. cream 1 tbsp. butter Beat butter and add sugar. Mix dry ingredients and add to milk. Fold in stiff beaten egg whites. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes. Mix all icing ingredients. Boil to soft stage. Cool until thick enough to spread. Beat a few times. |
