SLAW WITH VINEGAR DRESSING 
1 head cabbage, shredded
1 tbsp. salt
1 c. white vinegar
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 chopped green or sweet red pepper
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. grated carrots
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. mustard seed

Mix cabbage and salt and let stand 2 hours. Mix vinegar and sugar in pan and boil 5 minutes; then cool. Add rest of vegetables to cabbage, then add celery seed and mustard seed. Mix well. Pour vinegar over mixture. Cover, and set in refrigerator for 24 hours. Serves 20.
