SWEET-SOUR POT ROAST | |
1 tbsp. cooking oil 4 lbs. chuck roast 2 onions, sliced 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/4 tsp. ground cloves 1/4 c. honey 1/4 c. sugar Juice of 2 lemons 1 tsp. salt Heat oil in Dutch oven or heavy skillet with tight fitting lid. Add meats and onions; brown, turning frequently. In small bowl, combine pepper, cloves, honey, sugar, lemon juice and salt; pour over meat. Cover tightly and simmer slowly over low heat for 3 hours until meat is tender. Makes 6 to 8 servings. |
