M. RUBY'S IRISH SODA BREAD | |
2 c. milk with 2 tbsp. vinegar or 2 c. sour milk 4 c. flour 1 c. sugar 1 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 2-3 tbsp. caraway seeds 1 c. raisins or currants 2 tbsp. butter 2 tbsp. melted butter 2 tbsp. sugar Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease 9 inch cake pan. Sift dry ingredients together into a large bowl. Add raisins. Add butter and blend. Add milk and mix. Pour into cake pan. Sprinkle top with melted butter and then with sugar. Bake 15 minutes at 375 degrees. And then bake 50 minutes at 350 degrees. |
