FRENCH CAKES 
1 lb. butter, softened
5 eggs, beaten
2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
4 c. flour
3 oz. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs. Add flour and salt. Add vanilla; mix well. Cover; refrigerate overnight. Drop 1 teaspoonful in center of each waffle iron square. Cook only 1 to 2 minutes until light brown.
