COOKED RUSSIAN DRESSING 
1/4 c. sugar
3 tbsp. water
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. paprika
2 1/2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp. cider vinegar
1 c. salad oil
1/2 c. ketchup
1/4 c. grated onion

Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan. Set the pan over medium heat and cook, stirring until the mixture spins a thread (232 degrees F). Set aside to cool. Combine celery seed, salt and paprika in a mixing bowl. Stir in the lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce and vinegar. Blend well. With a whisk beat in the oil, ketchup, grated onion and cooled sugar mixture. Set aside for a few hours before eating.
