RANGER COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. crisp Rice Krispies (may used crushed corn flakes)
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 c. quick oats
1 c. shredded coconut

Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and vanilla. Mix until smooth. Add flour which has been sifted with the soda, baking powder and salt; mix thoroughly. Add quick oats, Rice Krispies and coconut and mix. The dough will be quite crumbly. Mold with hands into balls the size of walnuts. Place on greased cookie sheet and press lightly with fork. Bake in moderate 350 degree oven for 10-12 minutes.
