FRIED SAUERKRAUT 
1 (No. 2 1/2) can sauerkraut or 1 qt. jar, do not drain
2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. bacon fat or vegetable oil
Dash of pepper

Place all in hot skillet. Stir carefully to brown and not scorch. Turn down heat and saute to golden brown and all liquid is cooked out. Try using vegetable oil and sprinkling on bacon flavor pieces.
