GERMAN APPLE CAKE | |
3 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. baking soda 1 c. chopped walnuts 1 c. cooking oil 2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 2 c. sugar 2 tsp. cinnamon 4 c. sliced apples (about 5 med.) Beat eggs and oil together until thick. Add sugar, vanilla, flour, cinnamon, soda, salt and walnuts. Blend thoroughly. Slice apples; spread on bottom of greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Drop batter over apples. Bake 1 hour in 350 degree oven. Frost with cream cheese frosting. FROSTING: 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese 2 tsp. vanilla 1 tbsp. lemon juice 4 tsp. melted butter 2 c. powdered sugar Mix and spread on cooled cake. |
