GREAT - GRAMMA'S GERMAN APPLE
CAKE
 
CRUST:

1 1/2 sq. butter
3 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
1 c. milk

Mix egg and milk together with fork. Mix sugar and butter with spoon; add flour, salt, baking powder, egg and milk mixture. Mix until flour is absorbed. Flour board well; divide dough in half and roll out to fit a 15x11 pan. Roll dough lightly; do not overwork.

FILLING:

1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. lemon juice e 3 lbs. apples
Cinnamon
Butter

Keep rolling pin well-floured. Place half of dough in bottom of pan; add cut apples. Sprinkle with sugar, lemon and cinnamon. Dot with butter. Roll top crust and place on top of apples, prick with fork. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.
