GERMAN RAW APPLE CAKE | |
2 1/4 c. flour 1/2 c. brown sugar 3/4 c. granulated sugar 2 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 c. shortening 1 c. sour milk 2 eggs 2 c. raw sliced apples TOPPING: 1/4 c. brown sugar 1/4 c. granulated sugar 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 c. chopped nuts Combine dry ingredients. Cream shortening and add sugars. Beat in eggs. Add milk and dry ingredients alternately. Add apples. Divide batter between 2 greased and floured 9 inch cake pans. Combine topping ingredients and put on top of each cake. Bake 45 minutes at 325 to 350 degrees. Makes 2 (9 inch) cakes. |
