RYE BREAD | |
1/2 c. melted lard 1/2 c. molasses 2/3 c. brown sugar 4 tsp. salt 4 c. warm water 2 pkg. yeast 3 c. rye flour 9 c. white flour (approximately) Mix the lard, molasses, salt, sugar, water and yeast together. Add both the flours and knead well. Shape into 4 balls to fit in greased bread pans. Let rise, then bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until done. Makes 4 loaves. |
