DATE LOAF CANDY 
3 c. sugar
1 c. milk
1/4 c. karo
1/2 lb. pitted dates
1 c. chopped nuts

Cook sugar, milk, corn syrup and dates to soft ball stage, 238 degrees, stirring constantly. Cool to lukewarm. Beat until it starts to harden. Add nuts and turn onto damp cloth. Shape into roll and let stand until firm. Cut into slices. This candy may be stored for some time if tightly covered.
