DATE CANDY LOAF 
1 c. Carnation milk
3 c. sugar
1 tbsp. butter
1 c. pecans, chopped
3 tbsp. Karo syrup
1 pkg. dates
1 tsp. vanilla
Pinch of salt

Cook sugar, salt, milk and Karo to soft ball stage. Add butter and dates. Cook to hard ball stage. Beat a little more. Add vanilla and nuts. Roll in wet cloth. When set, about 3 to 4 hours, slice in pieces.
