CREAM CHEESE BROWNIES | |
BROWNIE LAYER: 4 oz. Baker's German sweet chocolate 1/2 c. (1/2 stick) butter 3/4 c. sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 c. all-purpose flour 1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional) CREAM CHEESE LAYER: 4 oz. cream cheese, softened 1/4 c. sugar 1 egg 1 tbsp. all-purpose flour Heat oven to 350 degrees. Melt chocolate and butter in saucepan over very low heat; stir constantly just until melted. Remove from heat. Stir sugar into melted chocolate mixture. Stir in eggs and vanilla until completely mixed. Mix in flour until well blended. Stir in nuts. Spread in greased 8 inch square pan. Prepare cream cheese layer. In same bowl mix cream cheese, sugar, egg and flour until smooth. Spoon over brownie mixture; swirl with knife to marbelize. Bake for 35 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out crumbly. DO NOT OVERBAKE! Cool in pan; cut into squares. Makes 16 brownies. |
