PARKER HOUSE ROLLS 
1 c. lukewarm water
1 tsp. yeast
3 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
3 c. flour
3 tbsp. shortening

Dissolve yeast in water. Add sugar, salt and half of flour. Then add shortening. Beat well. Add the rest of the flour. Knead well. Place in a greased bowl. Cover and let rise until doubled in size. Knead well again. Make into rolls and let rise again. Grease tops and bake.
