STRAWBERRY POUND CAKE 
8 eggs, separated
2 3/4 c. sugar
1 c. strawberries, thawed
1 tsp. red food coloring
1 lb. butter
3 1/2 c. flour

Beat egg whites and add 6 tablespoons sugar. Let set in refrigerator while mixing cake. Cream butter, add remaining sugar and mix well. Add egg yolks one at a time, beating well after each one. Add the strawberries and flour alternately. Add food coloring. Fold in beaten egg whites. Pour into greased and floured 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until done.

ICING:

1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
6 tbsp. strawberries

Spread on cake while hot.
