APRIL FOOL'S APPLE PIE | |
20 crackers 1 1/2 c. water 1 1/2 c. sugar Cinnamon 1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar 1 tbsp. lemon juice 1/4 tsp. grated lemon rind Break crackers in pastry lined 8 inch pie plate. Boil water, sugar and cream of tartar together for 15 minutes. Stir in lemon juice and rind. Pour syrup over crackers, dot generously with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon. Cover with top crust. Bake in hot oven (425 degrees) 20-30 minutes. |
